Even at the lowest difficulty level, Elex is a pretty tricky game. To better deal with the dangerous world of Magalan, you have to invest both experience points and money in several abilities that are useful no matter how you keep pumping your character.
Extra health points - this ability gives you additional health points with each new level of experience.
Master key - allows you to open locks using master keys. Each new level of this ability allows you to open more difficult locks. Also worth mentioning is the Adventurer's Amulet, which can be obtained at the beginning of the game - it gives +1 to this ability.
Armor - each subsequent level of this ability improves armor.
Endurance - increases your stamina, which is used for melee attacks. This is a very useful ability, as in this game you have to fight a lot in hand-to-hand combat.
