Extraction of dried meat
Generally, you should inspect every abandoned house or camp on your way. Infinite inventory space means you can carry as much with you as you like.
Be sure to check where you think food can be found, such as in kitchens or around a campfire.
If you want to make your life a lot easier, head to the top of the windmill just north of the Dome City. Here you will find a pair of sunglasses that light up any items within a specific radius of your character.
Dried Meat Vendors
The most efficient way to get jerky is to find the right merchant. At the moment, we know of two of these:
Village Istok
To the east of the Dome City, in Central Abesse, you will find a small settlement called Istok, which you can make your home base. After talking with Annie, you can upgrade the village, and one of these upgrades will be the merchant. Luckily, he sells dried meat.
Tavar
To the east of Edan lies the Tavar region, home to the Outcasts. The merchant is located in the Fort of this faction, and to get there through the main gate, you need to either pay the guard, or fight it.
You will usually be able to buy enough jerky from these vendors to complete the Missing One side quest.
