Regardless of which path you choose in the game, companions play a vital role. Although they are not as important as they were in the previous Obsidian RPG, Pillars of Eternity, all companions have an important place in the storyline. In this guide, you will find out where you can find each partner in Tyranny, as well as how they can be recruited into your party. Keep in mind that you can only hire three companions at a time.
Stanza (Verse)
The first companion in the game, Stanza, is a soldier that you will encounter in the Edgering Ruins, right after a boulder check after the first fight. You will see her fighting several Vendrien Guard Oathbreakers. At this stage, you can decide to help her, thereby motivating her to join your party, or simply watch the fight from the side. She is a very capable partner who is good with two weapons at once and a bow. You may lose access to this companion during the final Archon discussion before starting the Assault on the Citadel quest, so be sure to think carefully before giving any answers in this conversation.
Barik
You will meet the second companion next to the iron marshal Erenyos, after the first conversation with the Archon. He is a soldier who is very strong and works in a similar way to the tank from the MMO. Like Stanza, you can lose it during the last meeting with the Archon before the attack on the citadel, so be careful when giving answers in this conversation. It is also lost if you start the Oathbreakers quest and betray all of Kairos's powers.
Lantry
You can find the third companion at the Crimson Choir Camp, south of the Echocall Crossing. Upon arrival and speaking with the Fifth Eye, you will help interrogate the prisoner. After this is done, Lantry will offer to decrypt the letter for you. When he fails to do so for a short amount of time, the Fifth Eye will kill him. To get Lantry as a companion you must defend him in battle, acting as his “Champion” during the challenge. Or you can simply demand from the Chorus to give it to you.
Eb (Eb)
You can find Eb at the end of the Ascension Hall battle in the Assault on the Citadel quest. If you spare her, she will promise to serve you in quality. She is very strong in magic, making her a destructive force for your enemies on the battlefield. Eb can also be recruited during the Oathbreakers quest, where you will reject Kairos.
Sirin
Sirin is a well-known warrior of Kairos, who can be found in a small tavern in the Lethian Pass, after you have made the first spire in the Ascension Hall. She can be met before, but then she cannot be hired. Travel to the Lethian Transition (you will face the Brotherhood) and then talk to her to recruit into your party.
Kills-in-Shadow
Perhaps one of the most interesting companions that can be recruited after completing In the Whirlwind or Dissonance of War quests. After completing one of these tasks, Kills-in-Shadow will ambush you and your party. You need to correctly answer her questions, and refrain from too rude and unkind answers if you want this animal death machine to join your party.
