В Pokemon GO Pokeballs are your primary means of catching new Pokémon, but the process isn't always intuitive. A seemingly simple movement actually takes a little practice and skill. In this guide, you will learn some tips on how to throw Poke Balls correctly and more effectively.
Arcs and corners
Capture Pokémon more carefully. In the middle of the screen, it is usually easiest to land a successful throw. Your throw forms an arc, so try to measure your force and angle so that the ball hits the exact center.
While it's great to see Pokémon in the real world, enabling built-in AR will make the game a lot easier. After it is turned on, the Pokemon will always be in the center of the screen.
How to avoid dodging
Most Pokémon can dodge or parry your throws. A great way to avoid this is to touch the ball to hold it and then throw it immediately after the Pokémon dodges or parries.
Circle
Pay attention to the color of the aiming circle. Green means you can easily catch the Pokemon, but if the color is dark orange or even red, the hunt will be more difficult. You may need to use a more advanced type of pokeball.
When talking about centering the circle, you will notice that its size is always changing. Throw your ball to the center when the circle is as narrow as possible.
Twisted ball
When you place your finger on the Poke Ball, drag your finger around the edges of the ball and this will make it spin, adding a twirling ball effect. If you catch a Pokemon in this way, you will receive bonus points.
Big bolas
Too hard to catch a higher tier Pokémon? Don't worry, as soon as you get to level 12 you will have Big Balls that have a higher success rate.
Berries
Is catching Pokémon still a problem? Use the Razz Berry while hunting to make your task easier.
