Dark Souls 3 Walkthrough: Irithyll of the Boreal Valley - The Path to Anor Londo

94860905

After you defeat the Pontiff, light a bonfire in the cathedral and use the opposite door to reach the balcony. As soon as you leave the room, jump down - if you are able to kill the lizards, you will receive a shimmery titanite for each creature. Also on the right, at the end, there is a large titanite shard.

Use the only accessible path that leads to the stairs. You will reach a plaza with the bodies of fallen giants. In fact, two of them are asleep (you can check this yourself if you get close enough). The first step is to deal with the deacons, as they will shoot shells at you if you come closer to the middle of the square.

Turn left and walk towards the bridge. Before exiting on the other side, use the path on the right side where you will face three invisible opponents and one sorcerer. Kill them to collect the Dark Stoneplate ring and exit the other side, through the stairs that lead to the bridge (you will encounter many deacons).

In order to defeat all deacons, eliminate every enemy you come across. Although you can avoid the projectiles flying at you, this process will be more difficult if you focus on any of the deacons during the fight. As such, it is best to leap on enemies and perform powerful jump strikes (it is quite possible that you will quickly kill the deacons and dodge their projectiles).

A little further, you can hide behind a building. You will be protected from most of the projectiles and can wait until 2-3 deacons come to you (one of them is stronger, which can be easily knocked down with a powerful blow). Also, you must destroy all the deacons in the square in order to return there when necessary (this will allow you to pick up items and kill the giants if you decide to attack them).

Eventually you will come to the last three deacons. Being in front of the building, two more opponents can attack you from the side. If this happens, you must run away until the enemies stop chasing you. Then return to the location and eliminate all the remaining deacons.

Turn towards the cathedral. At the entrance, on the left side, hangs a body with a Large Titanite Shard. Go inside and open the elevator on the left. He will take you to the bonfire (where you fought Pontiff Sullivan). Go to the other side to find and kill the lizard (you will receive a Simple Gem). Opposite the entrance, you will find a room with an open chest. Don't even try to open it and attack right away. Try to get as close to the werewolf as possible and strike without letting him catch you. If you dodge his blow and go behind him, you have a great opportunity to deliver a crushing blow. Kill the creature to receive the Golden Ritual Spear.

Dark Souls 3

Return to the square; it is better to use the top of the bridge if you have dealt with all the deacons. Before you get into the building, there will be two more enemies on your way. One of them is armed with two spears, and the other with a pair of hammers. Despite being very aggressive, they lack shields and decent defenses. Beware of fast attacks that follow one another and slower but powerful attacks.

The best way to defeat them is to run away. Avoid them until they are no longer interested in you. Most likely, one of them will be slightly ahead, so when they turn, grab the attention of the enemy who is closer. If you're lucky, you'll be able to complete 2-3 hits before a second opponent joins the battle. Remember that when you kill them, they will die forever.

Another possible solution is to use giants in the square. If you are capable of plans to move between them, one of the deadly attacks can actually hit your opponents. Kill your enemies and you will receive Doran Spears.

Before entering the building located behind the giants, you must collect the items scattered around: the Soul of a Weary Warrior and Double Ember. You don't have to fight the giants, but if you decide to attack one of them, then wake up one and quickly move away. Thus, the rest will continue to sleep. Remember to deal with the aforementioned deacons. Don't wait for the giant to get up: just hit right away and watch out for his stomping attacks. The sequences of attacks that happen one after the other are deadly. If you can avoid them, you have enough time to deal fatal damage while the enemy is immobilized.

Keep walking and you will reach the previously mentioned building.

Dark Souls 3

Once inside, focus on the wall to the left of the stairs. It turns out that this is another illusion, and if you hit it, you will find a ladder that leads to the bottom (screenshot).

Dark Souls 3

Prepare for some serious combat as you are attacked by two creatures (you encountered such monsters on the bridge in Irithyll of the Cold Valley). The key problem is that enemies will attack immediately as soon as you enter the room. The good news is that the solution is pretty simple: stay away from the creatures and stay near the stairs. Use a bow or crossbow and fire against one of them. An accurate shot will bring one monster closer to you (the other must remain in its main position). This will allow you to fight him one-on-one, as long as you stay close to the stairs. Remember that you won't have a lot of wiggle room, so don't get cornered.

Another way is to call an online player for help. If you previously used Ember, the place to call the player should be at the bottom.

After the battle is over, a bonfire will appear here. For killing enemies, you will receive a Ring of Disgrace, and you can also collect Human Bones and Deep Gem. Walk up to the fallen archdeacon and pray to join the Aldrick Loyal covenant.

When you go up the stairs, look for a spot with a titanite shard. Then jump down a little to the right and find a Large Titanite Shard. The path will lead you through narrow roofs, and you will be constantly attacked by knights with huge bows (one accurate shot could well knock you off the roof). Walking along the path below, you will only be under fire from one side. Your goal is to reach the top as quickly as possible.

Remember: It would be wise not to fight the knight you meet halfway through. Fighting him may end up in your downfall, but if you really want to fight him, try to lure him out.

Dark Souls 3

Exit, turn right and go downstairs. This way you will be able to avoid one of the knights and be able to catch your breath. On the ground floor, you will find Ashes from the East.

Dark Souls 3

Collect it and head back upstairs. Since you dodged some of the enemies and went down the stairs, you will be able to move unnoticed for some time. This way, you will be able to eliminate three more knights that you will face. Sneak up behind them to quickly kill them, or deal enough damage to knock them off the edge.

Dark Souls 3

Go to the place where there is a curving roof. Here you will encounter a knight with a bow, so you must kill him before moving on.

Dark Souls 3

There is another knight in front of the entrance, and not far from him - another knight with a bow. You can enter inside, which will be more than enough to get the enemies behind you, but it is better to kill them, then collect the items and unlock the shortcut. Stay at the top of the roof and lure - for example by throwing a knife at it. After he arrives, you will have a one-on-one duel. Watch out for when he triggers lighting to strengthen his sword, because he will then perform a series of powerful blows.

Fight the guard protecting the entrance and head towards the last remaining archer. A path through the narrow roof will lead you to a small tower. There you can open a gate that will take you to a location next to the deacons. In the future, this will also allow you to avoid most of the bow knight. At the end of the road, behind a pillar, there is a Large Titanite Shard, and when you jump down (under a small roof) you will find a Greatbow Dragonslayer and five DragonSlayer Greatarrows.

Dark Souls 3

Return to the rooftops and enter the building located behind the knight. On the right, there is a passage leading down, and in front of it is Londo's killer (if you are allied with Yuri and did not save Anri). Talk to him and he will give you the sword of the Oath. Go inside and collect the brass set. At the end there is an altar and Henri's corpse. Walk up to him to start the ritual. Inside the ribcage, on the left side, is the Storno ring (a narrow passage between the altar and the pillar, right on the wall).

Remember: on your next visit, the killer will be dead and you will be able to collect the Chameleon from his corpse. At the altar, instead of Anri's body, you will encounter Anri's straight sword.

Remember 2: if you've already killed the assassin, you won't find him or Anri.

Dark Souls 3

Exit the room on the left side (opposite the stairs leading to the large room). You will find Ember next to the body, then use the lever. This will cause the tower in front of you to fall. Climb onto it and use the device that will bring it back to its original position - next to the Anor Londo bonfire.

Dark Souls 3

Remember: When you are at the top of the tower, you can join the Darkmoon Blades covenant. In order to do this, go to the very bottom and turn towards the tower on the opposite side (screenshot).

Dark Souls 3

The screenshot shows another tower where you will receive the covenant badge. In order to get to it, go across the invisible bridge. When you get to the tower, you can jump down and land next to the bonfire.

If you previously spoke to Sirris (and received the Darkmoon Loyalty gesture), you must bow down, and thus receive the Covenant badge. You will also receive the Dark Moon Blade. Enter the tower to collect (jump carefully) the Painting Keeper's Curved Sword and the Painting Keeper's Set. Leave the tower and you will eventually find yourself in Yorshka Church, where you can find a bonfire with the same name.
