Lost in the woods
Lost in the Woods is the first side quest in From The Ashes for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Indrich must go to the village of Pribyslavitsa and, at the request of Pan Diviš, find Marius, who is lost. After you get there, you will need to deal with the bandits in the destroyed village.
Travel to Pribyslavitsa
This quest is given to you by Pan Divish during a conversation with him in Talmberg. You will be sent to Pribyslavitsa to find Marius, with whom you have lost contact. After approaching Pribyslavitsa, head to the upper camp, which is located next to the destroyed church (the place where you fought the Shorty). Here you will meet bandits with whom you can talk. Basic options for action:
If you used intimidation or bribery, you can go directly to the next part of the quest. Otherwise, you will have to fight a group of bandits, but that shouldn't be a huge problem for a high-level hero with good equipment and advanced fighting skills. At least two bandits are archers, and you must kill them first.
An alternative way to attack the bandits is to sneak into their camp at night. You can kill several of them in your sleep, but at least one bandit is always on the alert.
How to free Marius
Marius is in one of the western tents, marked in the picture below.
Note: do not try to visit Marius' tent at night. You will not be able to free him until you deal with the bandits (by killing them or convincing them to leave Pribyslavitsa).
Once Marius is rescued, you can escort him through the village or let him look around on his own - it is better to choose the first option, because this is how you get to know his ideas for rebuilding the village.
Report for Pan Divish
Talk to Marius and meet with Pan Divish. During this meeting, you can tell a truth or a lie about the need to bribe bandits - you can get 600 pennies. Regardless of the dialogue options chosen, Jindrich will be appointed head of Pribyslavica and learns that he is responsible for building a new village from scratch. In addition, you can give Pan Divish a full report on Pribyslavitsa's research and ask for detailed information on the management of the settlement.
Delivery of the announcement
Pan Divish will hand you the Bailiff's rod and an announcement. The last item must be delivered to the bailiff in Rattay. We remind you that you can find him during the day walking around the city center or working at his post at the Rathaus. After you deliver the document, follow him to the main square in Rattay, where he will share the content of the notice with all residents. He will also invite refugees from Skalica to start a new life in Pribyslavice.
A place to call home
In this quest, you must deal with the restoration of Pribyslavitsa. You must make sure that a certain number of people live in the settlement in order to start earning sufficient income.
Return to Pribyslavitsa. On approaching the site, a short video will be shown showing the work involved in preparing the site for the construction of buildings in the village.
Meet again with Marius, who will tell you what is necessary for the successful functioning of the village. Of course, Marius himself does not work for free. He will demand a fee in excess of the amount offered by Divish. You can accept his demands or use "Persuasion" (12 points minimum) and offer him a lower amount or "base" salary (you save most of it).
In the list of tasks received from Marius, there are three tasks:
Rebuilding the village
Reconstruction of Pribyslavitsa will cost you tens of thousands of pennies, so at the very beginning of work related to the expansion of the village, you need to have at least 20-30 thousand in stock. The money to expand the village and cover its running costs is not automatically taken from Henry's inventory - you need to keep it in a chest. It should be located in the temporary headquarters of the governor (picture below). You can store gold in it - no one will steal it.
Gold is needed not only to build new buildings, but also to cover other costs, such as workers' wages. Ignoring the financial needs of residents can lead to the termination of their work and, consequently, to trouble with Pan Divish.
At first, the village will bring losses, but over time you will be able to build buildings (for example, a forge or a butcher), thanks to which the village will begin to pay off and turn out to be a plus. The goal is to make every day of the village's “existence” successful, that is, to end the day with a positive financial result.
Another very important object in Pribyslavice is a stand with a book about the village. In it you will find all the information about the current balance. You can determine what kind of profit / loss and how significant they are during the last periods of time.
The book also allows you to familiarize yourself with the objectives of the current quest and view the available buildings. This is the best way to check how much a new building will cost, what the requirements for its construction (for example, a paved road leading to a village, or certain resources) and what its purpose is. In addition, with the help of the book, you can order the construction of new buildings.
Note that the village is never attacked by bandits, so you don't need to worry about losing gold or its inhabitants.
What to build first
The recovery plan for Pribyslavitsa is not linear, but you must build the first few buildings in a strictly defined order. First, you need to build a sawmill camp, as further investment requires a supply of wood. The camp costs 2500 grosz.
The second important object in the village is the Merchant House, which costs 4000 grosz. However, before it you have to build a bridge and a road, for another 4000 grosz.
