Farming at Graveyard Keeper - How to Get Started, Where to Find Seeds and What to Plant

06694881

You might think that the cemetery management game has nothing to do with farming, but it is not. Farming isn't as difficult here as it is in Stardew Valley, but it still plays a role in making money.

To start growing your own crops, you need to obtain permission to use the Kitchen Garden from Horadrik, the owner of the Dead Horse Inn. This is the first NPC you'll meet in the game, so it's not hard to find him.

Talk to him about the garden, and he will give you permission to use it, while giving you a quest with a merchant. Now the Kitchen Garden is yours, and as soon as you get the seeds, you can start planting right away.

All you have to do is just go to the blueprint table in the garden southeast of your house, select the Empty Garden Bed option and place it where you want it. They can be used to plant seeds without watering the seeds - just wait a few days and then harvest.

Over time, you can unlock additional gardening items in the skill tree, such as the Compost Pile, which is used to create fertilizer, but can actually be useful in increasing the graveyard's rating.

All you have to do is get a bunch of compost from crop waste and it will produce peat over time.

Where to find seed merchants

Now you need to get seeds for planting, and the game doesn't really explain where you can buy them. So, just start walking east of your graveyard and eventually you will see a large wheat field. When you find yourself at the crossroads in the center of the field, head south and you will find yourself in front of a house with two NPCs.

The NPC on the right is a farmer and he sells most of the seeds in the game. However, at the beginning, some views are closed, so you will need to spend some money from him to open the second and third rows.

However, in the end you will need a crafting oil that is made from hemp seeds. And since the farmer doesn't have them, head down the dirt road east of the village until you find a bunch of stone ruins. NPC Dig should be among these ruins. He is the only person in Graveyard Keeper who sells cannabis seeds, whose harvest becomes very important after a few hours of playing.

The third NPC is a trader who sells grape seeds. He can be found in front of the barn, just south of the Dead Horse Tavern. Keep in mind that he is there only on those days that are marked with the sign Farming at Graveyard Keeper - How to Start, Where to Find Seeds and What You Can.
