Destiny 2 has launched a new exotic quest in which you can get the Xenophagus machine gun. It shoots powerful pyrotoxin rounds and also has the Rangefinder perk:
- Aimed shooting from grenade launchers and rocket launchers increases flight speed
- Aimed shooting from the "Xenophagus" machine gun increases the magnification of the sight and the range of destruction
Step 1: Start Your Journey
First, you need to get to the place overlooking the Pyramid, where you will meet Eris Morn. This area is located in the Everlasting Abyss, which can be reached via the Memory Portal or the Harbor of Sorrow and the Scarlet Keep. The path to the portal is quite simple, but it requires the quest "Memory of Eriana-3«.
If you don't have a quest, head to Sorrow's Harbor and go to the Scarlet Hold (located to the north). Inside, walk forward until you see glowing green stones. Turn left and go through the corridor.
Following the corridor, you will find yourself in a new area called the Enduring Abyss. After the text for this location, go forward to the very cliff. Don't jump down - instead look along the right wall and look for a hole. Go inside, then go through the corridor to get to a place overlooking the Pyramid.
There are four statues here (and also Eris after you complete the quest to restore memory). Activate the statues (I started with the one closest to the right counterclockwise) to create a new chest that contains the Spawn quest stage.
Step 2: Appearance
Now go to the Anchor of Light and raise the luminous ball in order to light the bowls in a certain order and for a limited time. The ball of light is next to the first bowl in the room indicated below:
Once you light the first bowl, you have 60 seconds to light all the others. Here is the correct order:
Step 3: Pathfinder
You need to find the Fragments of the Path in Lost Sectors on the Moon.
After passing the sector, find the Hive Runes on the walls. There will be a 3 × 3 grid: you need to make sure that all the runes on the grid match.
Shoot the runes in the order shown for each area:

Step 4: the path is open
You will travel to Destiny 2's new dungeon, The Pit of Heresy, but first you need to talk to Eris Morn.
She will give you the "Rising Wave" quest, in which you must open a level 3 (or higher) chest on the Altar of Sorrow and defeat 20 Nightmares. This will open the entrance to the dungeon.
The Altar of Sorrow is in Sorrow's Haven, so head there. Please note that it will be quite difficult to go through this stage alone, so it is better to assemble a good team.
When you find yourself in the Harbor, you will notice that the Altars are now active, and enemies are coming out of them. Killing common enemies adds 1 second to your timer. Killing Nightmares adds 10 seconds to your timer.
This event has unlock levels (up to the fifth). Each level includes defeating a certain number of Nightmares and then Warlocks. Once you complete one level, the next one will begin. Reach level 3 and let the event end (or continue to level 5) to get a chest at the end.
After completing both tasks, return to Eris Morn, who will tell you to find the entrance to the Pit of Heresy in Sorrow's Haven. A new dungeon with a recommended level of 940 will appear on your map.
Step 5: Descent into the dungeon
Kill the first enemies and then pay attention to the doors in the wall. You will need to interact with a door that has no symbols on it. It should be one of the top doors on the left.
Destroy new enemies, and then jump down and find a small round plate. By becoming on it, you activate a series of platforms. Jump to the last platform, take the light and take it to the door in the tunnels to get to the boss.
Kill the last boss and then return to Eris Morn. As a reward, you will receive an exotic Xenophagus machine gun.
