There are many different companions in the game, but only two of them can accompany you at the same time. You can change the composition of your companions at any time during your trip.
Each of the characters has their own abilities, characteristics and specialization. In addition, you can build friendly relations with them, which provide different bonuses. In addition, sometimes you will have the opportunity to talk to them - mainly after the main quests. This is practically the only way to improve your relationship with your companions, but only if you have chosen the right dialogue options. Another way to improve relationships is by completing companion quests. If they are available, you just need to talk to the specific companion and see if there is an additional dialogue option associated with the quest or not. Also, your relationship depends on your character's karma level - you should try to keep it high.
You can equip your companions with weapons that suit their class (for example, you cannot give Amelia a rifle). The rest of the weapons will be carried by you, not your companions. If you know that the companion will die, or you are no longer going to travel with him / her, change the weapon of the companion to a weaker one.
Scott Seeker
Scott is an old friend of yours who will be a loyal companion. You will find him at the beginning of the game in the slums. From the very beginning, you will have the opportunity to complete the search for a professor associated with Scott, which will improve your relationship with this character. His attitude towards you largely depends on your level of karma.
Scott fights using only a pistol, so he doesn't work well if you're going to quickly kill enemies. However, it can heal your character.
Passive bonus: Increase health regeneration by 2%.
Relationship Bonus: +1 Science
Jeffrey Hunter
This character is temporary - he will accompany you only in the first chapter, and becomes available after the first conversation with Captain Eliza Major during the quest Fight for Abundance. This hero has no relationship with other characters.
This is a powerful character who uses a heavy rifle in battle. He is not very effective when paired with Scott, so in such a combination I advise you to play for the Defender class so that you can take enemy fire on yourself. Otherwise, your companions will quickly die in close combat. However, if you are playing the Outcast class and are using a pistol, Jeffrey's passive bonus will increase the damage dealt by this weapon.
Passive bonus: Fire damage +2
David Ward
This character is temporary - he will accompany you only in the first chapter, and becomes available after the first conversation with Captain Eliza Major during the quest Fight for Abundance. This hero has no relationship with other characters.
David is a good choice for every class - he is equipped with a shield, which makes him quite self-sufficient, and he will be able to direct enemy fire at himself. During this time, you must use a powerful attack to quickly get rid of the enemies. Ideal for the Warrior class.
Passive bonus: Resistance + 2%
Amelia Reacher
Amelia can be found during the expedition to the Excavation Site in the first chapter, but she cannot yet become your companion (only in the second chapter). However, you can improve your relationship with the woman by completing the quest.
After reaching Noctis, you will be able to travel with Amelia. She is the guardian, and is equipped with a weapon and shield. By talking to her, you can improve your relationship - you can ask her about relationships, tastes, but do not ask her about childhood, as this will lead to a decrease in reputation. She loves it when you pay attention to the elements that are related to technology and travel, as well as her interests. Pretty quickly, you can get a high level of relationship with Amelia.
Passive bonus: Resistance + 5%
Relationship Bonus: +1 to craft
Эндрю
A very charismatic character. You will meet him during the first chapter (if you're lucky), completing the Marx side quest. In the second chapter, you will be able to complete a quest for him, which can be opened during a conversation, after you have completed several quests in Noctis.
Andrew is a technomancer and warrior. However, until you complete his quest (opens in Noctis after completing several story-related quests), he will be a simple warrior, with a weapon in one hand. Thanks to his abilities, he is an excellent and powerful companion.
Passive bonus: Energy recovery + 5%
Relationship Bonus: + 1 Charisma
Phobos
You will first meet Phobos in Ophir during a trade quest - he will be known as Beck. After that, you can complete another quest for him (Souvenir for a mother), and then start a conversation with him.
This character is very powerful and quickly destroys enemies, as he uses two-handed weapons (note how difficult it is to get them from merchants). He is particularly strong and has the highest health of any companion, making him effective when paired with almost any class. Unfortunately, you can only improve your relationship with him in the third chapter, in the City of Mutants. Avoid problems with any mutants while traveling so as not to worsen your relationship with Phobos.
Passive bonus: Maximum equipment weight +250
Relationship Bonus: +1 to intelligence
Niša
You will meet this heroine during a personal protection quest. Later, but still during the first chapter, you will be able to complete the quest A friend under pressure for her. She will be available as a companion in Chapter XNUMX.
In combat, Nisha uses a dagger and poison attacks, which makes her effective against numerous enemies, especially if you prefer to fight with pistols, the forces of a technomancer or for the Defender class. In addition, she can be a great help if you are playing as the Outcast class, and her passive bonus provides additional damage with daggers. A good relationship with this companion can be built pretty quickly. To further improve your relationship with the girl, take her with you during the Patience quest and complete the quest associated with her.
Passive bonus: Dagger Damage +2
Relationship Bonus: +1 to Castles / Traps
