In Osiris: New Dawn, survival is very important, even if you decide to devote yourself to exploration and more. So, in the new guide you will learn how to survive on the unfamiliar planet Proteus 2.
Basics and protection
Proteus 2 is a desert planet with many alien species and resources. If you're a beginner, you should get comfortable with the WASD controls and get used to the environment. You start out with a supply of duct tape to help you patch up your suit after an emergency landing. This will save your life from outside temperature and pressure, which are shown on the indicators on the left side. If this is not done, instant death will occur.
The next thing you need to do is build the Inflatable Dome next to the spawn point. This is done in order to maintain your progress and replenish oxygen stores. Also, collect the entire survival kit and ammo box to begin your exploration of the planet. Food and water can be found in the survival kit.
The ammo box will help you refill your assault rifle's magazine, while the pistol has infinite ammo. During your exploration, you will come across wildlife and various types of aliens, which may or may not be hostile. It is best to use a pistol and hold the rifle for an emergency.
Whenever you run out of oxygen, go inside the inflatable dome and use the bed to replenish oxygen. This dome can be carried with you, so you can place it anywhere you want.
Resources and craft
Now that you know how to protect yourself from the flora and fauna of the planet, it's time to build your settlement / colony. To do this, you need to collect enough resources. Start by building a Workbench, which will cost you 2 titanium, 4 iron and 4 plutonium. If you are from the UNE faction, take a look at the titanium deposit south of the spawn point.
After the workbench, proceed to the Habitat, which requires 15 steel, 10 glass, 30 aluminum and 10 copper. To build walls, you need 27 iron, aluminum and copper. The habitat needs an airlock to maintain the pressure inside. Once everything is ready, select the Furniture tab and build the bed, shower, and other items. To collect resources, you can use your drone; also build a warehouse where it will carry resources.
