Where to start
Choose a location that has wood, stone, iron, and fertile soil. The black stone is useless and cannot be removed.
Build a fortress and roads
You need roads to build any buildings other than castle walls. To rotate the building, hold down the middle mouse button (wheel).
Build a house and start producing food
The villagers need food and shelter. You must increase your population as quickly as possible to get surplus builders and resources.
It is best to use gardens in the beginning as the supply of wood can be small and the farms only produce 3 food (a garden yields 15). This requires three workers and very fertile land to reap the maximum benefits.
Tree
You will need to collect wood to build the first few houses. In those places where you have already cut down all the trees, it is better to plant new ones: for this you need a forester, and to build his house, you need a stone.
Stone
To extract stone you need a mine, which is 15 trees for construction and 3 workers.
Builders and workers
Sometimes you need to free workers to get builders. To do this, simply uncheck the "0pen" checkbox, because workers will prioritize any jobs other than building buildings.
Money and protection
In the early stages of the game, it is best to defend the most important buildings from dragons and barbarians. It is also worth noting that if you built a non-circular wall, enemy Vikings may well go around it and come to you from the other side, and trolls can break your walls in general. Plus, for some reason, they can walk on water.
In the later stages, you will start earning gold, so it will be time to build defense towers on the walls.
We add that your taxes and income are based on population, which further emphasizes that it takes a lot of residents to create proper protection.
Walls will cost you 5 wood and 15 stones per block. They can be created as high as possible.
