The Rune is one of the essential items in Dead Cells that gives your characters constant upgrades such as teleportation, wall shattering, and more.
Below you will find a list of all the runes available in the game. To get them, you will need to defeat various monsters.
Rune of the vine
Unlocks a new ability that sprouts vines from the green droplets present on the map.
Go to the Path of the Doomed.
To get to the Trail, just leave the starting location and the next one will be the right place.
On the path, you need to defeat the undead archer and collect the rune.
Rune of teleportation
Allows your character to teleport from one coffin to another, unlocking new levels.
Go to the Toxic Sewers
To get there, go to the prisoner's cell and use the Vine Rune at the sewer entrance, which looks like a pile of slime.
Now you are looking for a door with a switch under it - behind it there will be a room with a monster, killing which, you will receive a rune.
Ram rune
Used to destroy weak floors, which are usually indicated by a yellow sign.
Go to the Crypt.
To get to the Crypt, first leave the prisoner's cell and head to the Trail of the Condemned. Here use the teleportation rune on the coffin.
Once in the Crypt, find a door that can be opened by destroying the weak earth.
Finally, defeat the elite monster and claim the rune.
Spider rune
Allows you to climb walls to get to certain locations.
You need to get to the Sleeping Sanctuary, but to get there, you must go through the Intolerable Crypt.
To get to the Intolerable Crypt, first go to the location with the vine rune and then go down to the Old Sewers. Use the ram rune to break the floor and keep walking - you will eventually reach the crypt.
In the Intolerable Crypt, you will encounter the Observer boss. You need to defeat him.
Once you defeat the enemy, head to the Sleeping Sanctuary and defeat the monster to get the rune.
Rune of Trials
Gives you the ability to open the door to the prisoner's cell every day.
Return to the Black Bridge.
Kill the Gatekeeper and take the rune.
Rune homunculus
Allows you to control your head separately from your body so you can get to new locations.
Appears in the Prisoner's Quarter after defeating The Hand of the King (final boss).
