Before you can afford to buy a good ship, your main way of finding new islands in Atlas is to use a raft. To build it, find a shipyard in the docks of the Village on the coast of the island where you find yourself.

Now you must place a fire and a bed on it so that you can respawn near it in case of death.
It is recommended that everyone on your raft has a minimum of 20 meat and fish, 50 fruits, 50 wild vegetables and 5 skins, and a minimum of level five.
To start sailing, you need to open the sail control menu (button "E"). There are five options: turn the sails (you can choose the angle at which you open the sail), open all the sails fully, open all the sails, and close.
While driving the raft, you will see a boat icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Green indicates the position of the raft sails and the direction your raft is heading, while a white arrow indicates the direction of the wind.
How to build a ship
Having pumped up to level 6, it is fashionable to start building a full-fledged ship. The first thing you will need to create a small boat, sloop or schooner is a small shipyard or dock, so your first goal is to gather resources and materials for this.
Then you will need to purchase a loom and a forge. The forge will allow you to create metal tools that will be used to collect the ship's resources and materials (you cannot get them with primitive stone tools). Also, the forge and the loom are used in the construction of the ship itself - for the floor and sails.
A forge can be made for 40 fibers, 5 flints, 65 skins, 20 metal, 125 stones, and 20 wood. Metal can be obtained by breaking stones with a stone pickaxe.

Other requirements
After you have collected all the resources, head to your dock and find a ramp for the ship. Place the materials you want on top of it, and if you notice any holes, just fill them with ceiling tiles.
If you have correctly placed all the parts and materials of the ship, you can go to the ship and press the "E" button, after which the finished ship will fall into the water.
