Update 1.33 for AFK Arena added a new event "Woo-Kun - The Monkey King" to the game, in which you can get this hero for free.
1. Go to Renhorn -> Library -> Unions
2. Click on any union.
- If the union already has maximum heroes, replace the hero in your union with its weaker version, after which the "Share" button will appear.
- If your union does not yet have maximum heroes, add the missing hero there, after which the "Share" button will appear.
3. Now press the button twice and Wu-Kun is yours!
Note: sometimes the game just slows down and the Share button doesn't appear. Just repeat the above steps 1-2 more times until it appears. And you don't have to share on Facebook to get a hero. Just press the button 2 times.

So Facebook is not necessary - just press the Share button twice.
How to get without Facebook?
I did it myself twice and got the woo-kun.
You can simply summon heroes and share in the tavern.
And how to share in a tavern? There are no such buttons.
