In this guide, I will cover the most important buildings in Rise of Kingdoms, with the exception of the Town Hall and Academy, as they are the backbone of any city.
- Upgrading the Town Hall gives you more troop units and more options
- Upgrading the Academy gives you military and economic buffs
1. Trading post
Very important because of the tax rate. When you upgrade it to a high level, the tax rate will be reduced to 8%, and you can transfer up to 5 million resources to your ally at a time (at 100% marching speed).
2. Warehouse
Most new players do not know the value of a warehouse because at the beginning of the game it is almost useless since you do not store a huge amount of resources.
When you upgrade the warehouse, it will be able to protect more resources from enemy attacks. In the later stages of the game, if you have a low-level warehouse, and at the same time there are a lot of resources, the enemies will attack you first of all.
3. Scout camp
This is the building that allows you to spy. It can be used to clear the fog of war, find tribal villages or caves, etc.
As you level up the camp, you will be able to send several scouts at the same time and get some special scout abilities, such as a higher march speed, exploration range, etc.
Upgrading your scout camp does not require a lot of resources, but it does take a long time. Therefore, I recommend pumping the camp during events that require time to build.
4. Hospital
It is the only place where you can heal your seriously wounded soldiers. As you fight, the wounded units will be sent to the hospital for treatment.
You can build a maximum of 4 hospitals and you don't need to work on them at the same time. Just upgrade slowly one building at a time.
Tip: if you upgrade 1 hospital, immediately after that upgrade the rest to the same level.
The hospital determines your combat readiness on the battlefield. If all your hospitals are full, it is best not to engage in combat, because your troops will die immediately, as there is no room for them in the hospitals.
At max level, hospitals even give your troops 1% extra health.
Pumping hospitals gives a lot of extra energy. I recommend updating them during events like Power Up.
5. Wall
Another very important building, especially in the middle of the game. This is where you place your defending garrison commanders.
The wall is the first line of your city. If the enemies want to raid your city, they will have to deal with the wall first.
Upgrading a wall increases its durability. If the wall starts to burn, its durability will gradually reach 0, after which you will be teleported to a random location.
While the city is on fire, you can extinguish it with a few gems.
